Hello Eminence!

In case you haven't seen it yet, check out Newsela.  This is a resource that you (and your students) can sign up to view current events/informative texts for free.  You can log in to Newsela with your school GAFE ( account.

Click to check it out.
But why should you use this as opposed to that other site you may be using?  Here's the kicker: Newsela lets you (and more importantly, your students) view the same article at multiple Lexile levels easily!

You can switch the Lexile level of an article by clicking on the different numbers listed in the blue box.  Once clicked, the text of the article changes, but its content stays the same.  This is great news for teachers who want to have their students reading about the same topic, but may have students at different reading levels.

Check it out:

Also, in Newsela, you can create classes using your students' GAFE accounts and assign different texts to them as you see fit.
