Chrome Extensions, eh?

Hello Eminence!

If you're using Chrome, did you know that you can add "Extensions" to it?  Don't know what a Chrome Extension is?  Think of them as tiny little computer programs that perform simple tasks which can automate and simplify your daily workflow.  They always appear in the top right hand corner of "Chrome".  For example, mine look like this:

You can search for your own in a place called the Chrome Web Store, (link) and then add them with a click like this.

Here's some links to FIVE of my favorites.  Clicking on these will take you to its location in the store. Enjoy!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Removes about 90% of advertisements on webpages (and Youtube!)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adds a timer to your browser.  Very slick!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets you create anything in Google Drive from any webpage.  Big timer saver!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets your students create screencasts and GIF files!  Everything they make is saved directly to their Google Drive, too.  IMPORTANT, for the Extension to work properly, you also need to install the Snagit for Chrome App (click to install it here).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shortens links with a click.  It also creates QR codes!  Check it out:

Pro Tip: Have you installed an extension that you want to get rid of? Simply right click on it and select "Remove from Chrome" like this:

Enjoy!

  2. When you click on the BuiltWith icon, this Chrome Extension displays a list of servers, frameworks, and the like that went into the making of a website. The moniker could not have been more apt!
